MEET SJ

Girls often ask us, how to become a Slocabaia model and really the answer is

Invest time and effort into learning your craft, believe in yourself, build up a modeling portfolio

and the universe will lead you to us when it is the right time. We had such a great time working with Stephanie Jadelyn and people wanted to know more about our models, so we decided to do a Slocabaia Q&A.

Please introduce yourself to the readers.

'' Hi my name is Stephanie(also known as SJ) and i'm one of Slocabaia's models. I am Indonesian, 19 years old and one of 7 siblings! Currently studying HR at ROC Mondriaan in The Hague.''

What sort of settings/clothes do you prefer to shoot for, or wear?

I’m really easy going, so most of the times I don’t really mind what kind of setting the shoot has or what kind of clothes. My first shoot was more of an urban/ street wear setting. I really enjoyed that!

How do you handle it?

I had struggles with dealing with that in my younger years, but now as I grew older I learned to listen to it and try to learn from it. Everyone is a living piece of work and there’s always enough room to learn and develop yourself.

Would you consider yourself a creative person?

Honestly, I think so. I enjoy listening to music and playing guitar and singing. I also like drawing and painting if I’d get the chance.

What is your personal style?

It depends on how I’m feeling. It could be street wear one day, classy and sophisticated the other day.

Who or what inspires you?

I often see videos on the internet of people doing good deeds or helping others, and that inspires me to do good everyday myself and love one another like I love myself.

How would your (best) friends describe you?

Caring, patient, friendly, social but also cold-hearted and straight to the point when it comes to it.

Do you have any experience with criticism?

Yes, a lot.

What magazine would you like to be on the cover of?

I wouldn’t know. Vogue maybe?

How do you keep in shape? How do you manage to stay healthy?

I don’t work out, it’s my genes that keep me “fit”. I do eat fruits and vegetables everyday and try to drink water as much as I can.

What are your hobbies? Favorite snack?

I love shopping, hanging out with friends, listening to music and spending time with family. My favorite snack is custard cakes!

Favorite music?

I listen to different types of genres. My favorites are hip hop and r&b.

Favorite movies/series?

Lion king and Lucifer

Favorite city to visit? To shop?

To visit I’d say Amsterdam/Rotterdam and to shop would be Rotterdam/The Hague.

Favorite social media platform? Why?

TikTok, I tend to spend hours watching TikTok’s and just get lost on there. It’s really entertaining.

What do you think makes you stand out? Can you share a story?

I don’t think I stand out. I don’t like standing in the spotlight. I usually just mind my business and try not to mix with the crowd.

What do you know about Slocabaia?

The name is based off 2 (great?) grand parents of one of the owners. Sloca and Baia. They try to put their feelings and their experiences of their lives into the design of the clothing. Based in Suriname and now expanding here in the Netherlands. It’s a new smaller brand, but already making big moves!

Describe the vibe working with Slocabaia?

Really chill people, you could definitely hang out after shoots or meetings. No issues and great communication.

Any personal note you would like to leave for the readers?

We don’t lose. Sometimes we win, sometimes we learn. And in everything you do, do it with kindness and love. - SJ
